2010 student of the year award
Ideal has awarded two candidates the 2010 Student of the Year Award at a ceremony in Salisbury for exceptional results in their CIS UCQ assessed training units.
Ideal introduced the award last year. Candidates are selected from a national shortlist of applicants deemed to have performed well and demonstrating a high level of individual achievement through attainment of new knowledge and skills.
Due to a higher number of nominations this year, Ideal selected two joint winners for the 2010 CIS UCQ Student of the Year Award.
The successful students were Christine Cooke, Theatre Booking Supervisor at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and Kouser Sharif, Care Records Trainer working at Kingston Hospital.
Christine explained what the award meant to her. "I was surprised and delighted to be selected as 2010 CIS UCQ Student of the Year. I was nominated by my manager when I was working towards my CIS UCQ together with the rest of the team. I am now using the new knowledge and skills gained through my award to make sure that patient pathways are recorded accurately and according to Trust standards."
Kouser Sharif shared her view of the award. "I was so surprised to have been selected for CIS UCQ Student of the Year 2010. I really enjoyed working on the project at Kingston and to have been nominated to receive this award has been a real accolade to remember."
Andrew Raynes, Director of Education Quality and Accreditation at Ideal commented, "It is excititng to see high standards through their achievement of modules from the CIS UCQ project. It is particularly rewarding to be able to recognise exceptional talent from our best performing students."
