The team of nearly 100 Ideal floorwalkers who successfully supported Kingston Hospital NHS Trust during the implementation of their Cerner Millennium Care Records Service (CRS) programme are awarded their certificate of CIS UCQ accreditation.
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday 2 June at Kingston Hospital.
The Ideal floorwalking team successfully achieved accreditation in two units of the Care Information Systems User Competencies and Qualification (CIS UCQ) framework:
Unit 3.8 Floorwalking and Unit 6.1 CRS Foundation (Cerner Millennium).
Candidates were required to study extensive reading documentation and attend two full day training sessions run by Ideal and Kingston Hospital trainers. In order to achieve their accreditation, candidates had to obtain at least 75% in a written examination following the training. Eighty-five per cent of candidates passed the first exam and a further ten candidates successfully re-sat the exam.
The certificate confirms that the Ideal floorwalkers demonstrate a high level of competency through knowledge and skills gained to effectively support the implementation of Cerner Millennium at an appropriate level for their roles. The candidates can build on this achievement using their award to pursue personal and professional development as part of lifelong learning. By gaining modules from CIS certification, successful candidates can use the award to contribute towards NVQs in Health and Social Care and Administration, or towards full degree level study.
The Care Information System User Competencies and Qualification (CIS UCQ) framework is the first vocational, competency based, health informatics learning programme in the UK. It has been developed to support the NHS to achieve the benefits of IT enabled change by equipping the workforce with the knowledge and skills appropriate to their roles.
