Ideal has been awarded an Investment in Quality license by the National Awarding Body NCFE to deliver a portfolio of health informatics training courses leading to vocational competency awards.
Courses are available on Information governance, Business planning, Change and benefits, Project and programme management, Preparation and testing, Care information system user essentials, Supporting technology, Support and delivery management.

By taking an Ideal training course, NHS staff will be eligible to receive a CIS certificate. Ideal can also assess a Trust for a CIS award in other areas, for example the delivery of Information governance.
All the courses can be customised to meet specific requirements and are designed to support government plans to support improved uptake of level 2 educational programmes by staff in the NHS.
The vocational awards map to the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) and the Health Informatics National Occupational Standards (HINOS).
The license ensures that the delivery of educational programmes is mapped to recognised standards including ISO 9001, Investors on People, Business Excellence, Common Inspection Framework and the matrix for Recognising and Recording Progression and Achievement (RARPA).
In order to maintain the accreditation, Ideal must achieve specific quality targets which are set by the awarding body and continually monitored and reviewed to ensure the high standards are maintained.
Anne Railton, Sector Leader for Accreditation at NCFE was very happy to support Ideal’s application. She explains, “Ideal has successfully met the requirement to gain the NCFE Investing in Quality licence.
“To be awarded the licence a centre must prove that they meet the criteria for all six quality statements covering areas from level of retention and achievement, equality of access and the effectiveness of the leadership and management.
“The Investing in Quality licence is written to national standards and carries the approval of NCFE as a national awarding body. Currently there are only 51 centres holding the full licence.
“All aspects of the awards are assessed both internally and externally to ensure that standards are maintained across all provisions”.
