Ideal meets requirements of NHS Health Informatics Quality Scheme for learning and development
Ideal is the first commercial company in the UK, recognised by NHS Connecting for Health, to conform to organisational standards set out in the Health Informatics Quality Scheme for learning and development (NHS HIQS).
The NHS Connecting for Health approved Ideal's HIQS application in October 2008.
The HIQS confirms that Ideal meets rigorous organisational quality standards set by the NHS. It reinforces Ideal's commitment to ensuring its approach to training and development is aligned to NHS standards and values.
Ideal successfully met criteria related to quality assurance processes, student support, access to learning resources and equity of access to learning.
Phil Mason, Programme Manager for Health Informatics Development with NHS Connecting for Health supports Ideal's application. He commented "We are delighted that Ideal has achieved the first stage of recognition in meeting the organisation criteria and we look forward to continuing to work with them as they seek recognition for their modules".
Ideal feels their successful application reflects the company's commitment to delivering a Health Centric education, training and development service.
Andrew Raynes, Director of Education Quality and Accreditation at Ideal and former Head of Education Training and Development for the NHS Southern Programme for IT (SPfIT), explains, "CIS UCQ was born within the NHs, for the NHS, to help the NHS bring about the technology enabled transformation. During my 17 years working for the NHS, I observed many new systems implementations. I believe CIS is vital for ensuring the benefits of new technology are realised as part of competency based learning."
