Successful implementation maintains safe patient care whilst achieving benefits
As leading experts in digital transformation, our highly-skilled and experienced implementation teams cover every aspect of digital health implementation through our 8 key services below, as well as Change, Training and Go Live:
Programme Management
Delays to a digital programme can cost healthcare organisations millions of pounds. We ensure timely and effective delivery of your complex digital programmes, whilst aligning with your organisational strategy, giving you control and focus on benefits realisation and ROI.
Project Management
From strategic projects to full EPR implementations, our team works with you to establish the best methodology for your project. We provide support and a safe pair of hands during the project lifecycle and ensure all key deliverables are correctly managed, securing a successful outcome for your project.
Programme Governance/PMO
Correct governance and control can identify problems early, minimising the cost and reputational impacts of delays to the programme or project. Our consultants are experienced in new PMO set up and in improvement of existing governance procedures.
Technical Readiness Assessment
We assess the Trust’s As-Is and To-Be integration, reporting and end-user infrastructure environments. This significantly improves the precision of the business case for a system acquisition and provides clarity and accuracy for the resulting implementation plan, reducing both your financial and resource costs.
Integration
Our consultants minimise the impact of your new or upgraded EPR, workflow change or new departmental system on your Trust’s integration design and infrastructure. Systems are integrated smoothly to reduce risk and maintain patient safety.
Testing
Testing supports your journey to a stable and usable EPR or health system. Our industry-leading test teams provide accurate classification and characterisation of test issues and effective management to resolution, ensuring your digital investment delivers as contracted.
Reporting and Business Intelligence
Understanding how change will impact an organisation’s reporting and analytics environment is an essential element of technical readiness. Our consultants understand the importance of reporting and develop a full analysis of the To-Be reporting environment to increase capability and efficiency.
End User Infrastructure
Our end-user infrastructure assessment alerts Trusts of potential issues that could prevent a successful go live. It supports business case development and provides a close relationship between implementation planning and activation support, to ensure a smooth go live.
Agile and responsive, our complete capability approach – people, process and platforms – is focussed on timely delivery and successful outcomes, achieved by ensuring the right activity at the right time, in the right way.

Ideal has partnered with over 150 healthcare organisations on successful implementation programmes, supporting safe patient care whilst achieving benefits from digital investment. Our expert teams bring skills, experience and lessons learnt from numerous successful health system implementations across the NHS, including over 40 EPR deployments, enabling us to provide you with the best possible support. We complement and enhance the capabilities of your own teams to help navigate complex digital implementations and realise positive benefits.
For example, Ideal recently completed a 2-year contract as Strategic Implementation Partner for a large Acute Trust on their Cerner Millenium programme.
We provided a managed implementation service across multiple workstreams, complementing and integrating with Trust teams. We resourced a cohesive multi-disciplinary team of more than 20 skilled, Cerner-experienced consultants covering programme leadership, data migration, interface development, change and benefits management, cutover planning, testing and training; with additional testers, trainers and floorwalkers over Go-Live and Early Live. We utilised our tried-and-tested remote delivery platforms and procedures during the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions to minimise disruption, enable engagement and support effective implementation.
