Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Ideal Health Consultants Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2021/22
Additional details relating to the Baseline Emissions Calculations:
Ideal Health’s financial year ending 30th June 2022 is its baseline year. It should be noted that this period was during the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore energy consumption and staff commuting habits may change significantly in the future.

It should also be noted that due to the nature of Ideal Health’s business operations (which do not include any company owned premises or vehicles), Ideal Health does not produce any Scope 1 emissions.

Ideal Health’s Scope 3 Employee Commuting data was calculated using the distance and typical form of transport that each of our 27 employees used during the baseline period. The average number of days each employee worked from our office and at home per year and standard employee annual leave allowance were also factored into this calculation.

Emission Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 33.16 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 20%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives:

Please note Ideal Health’s baseline year, FY22, business activity and operations were still heavily governed by Covid 19 regulations and restrictions. As such, an increase in emissions was potentially projected alongside growth of the business, increased staff body and upsurge in general activity as the market picked back up. Minor increases in Ideal’s total emissions are not a reflection on our commitment to Net Zero target, and decrease is forecasted as we take proactive measures to reduce our total output of emissions.

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

The following environmental management measures and projects were completed or implemented during FY23:

  • Maintaining IOS14001 accreditation
  • Where work circumstances allow, employees given options for flexible hybrid working model to reduce commuting emissions
  • Encourage employees to use public transport to commute to the office
  • Reusing laptops and mobile phones for new starters
  • Reduced client meetings held in person to more virtual meetings
  • Recycling bins are provided in the office
  • Recycled paper has been introduced and Ideal encourage less printing in the office

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • To maintain and continue upholding ISO14001 accreditation
  • Aim to only travel when necessary and use video conferencing instead
  • Aim to reduce waste on packaging for bought-in goods
  • Indoctrinate all new staff with the Environmental and Carbon Reduction Policy as a key part of the Induction Process.
  • Control heat and power in our buildings
